The modern world is so foreign to me that I have difficulty recognizing it. Everyone wants a gun, everyone wants ammo, and everyone wants it all at once. It’s hard for us to remember when we were all lonely–even at our gun clubs. Here are some carry guns to consider. Despite the limited selection, the most important things to remember about carry guns are that they fit your hand and that they can hold lots of rounds. The Shield RMSc red dot optic on the top of the Hellcat is a great addition to daily carry technology. Depending on whether you use the flush or extended magazine, you have either 11+1 or 13+1 round. You can choose to have a red-dot sight or regular iron sights on top. It’s good because there is a wide range of ammunition and loadings. The 9mm ammo is the first thing that everyone wants to purchase, so it’s often swarmed and bought at the local gun shop. Although the Hellcat doesn’t use any magazine from any other pistol, Springfield is very aggressive in making sure that there’s enough. It’s a Springfield product so every holster maker has something for it. MSRP: $620The Slim Options: Walther CCPWalther is an expert in making reliable, accurate pistols. The CCP is also a soft-shooting pistol. Not everyone wants a 9mm pistol with half the ammunition. Walther also makes the CCPM2, which is slimmer for those who prefer something lighter. (The M2 is a regular magazine release button. It does not refer to the europaddle release for the first Walther USA models. The Softcoil recoil system is another clever trick that the CCP has to offer. This is a gas-delayed piston that buffers the slide in a recoil. This makes it easier for the slide to retract and makes the recoil more gentle. The first time I fired one, it was difficult to retract and the recoil was much more gentle. It had. It had a thumb safety. If you don’t want a thumb security, the quality and utility offered by the Walther might not be sufficient to overcome your prejudice. They outdid themselves every step of the journey. The K6s will be a great choice if revolvers are your “thing” with carry. The 3-inch barrel model is easier to shoot than its 2-inch counterpart. Some people prefer a little more versatility in their carry guns. The newest K6s is the 3-inch version the Kimber revolver and it’s really nice. Back in the days when the FBI was making headlines for catching bank robbers, they decided that a.357 Magnum with 3-inch barrel was the best carry gun. The.357 chambering allows you to choose the power you want, from.38 wadcutter ammo on top to the most powerful.357 Magnum load you can shoot. Double-action (DA) is the best for fast shooting. Double-action (DA) is a great option for fast shooting. You don’t have t to lose accuracy, just practice. Revolvers don’t need any stinking magazines. Speedloaders are used for quick reloads. Kimber makes them for K6s. And holsters. The holster industry has been making holsters to fit six-shot DA revolvers from before Teddy Roosevelt took San Juan Hill. MSRP: $985The Underrated Canik TP9The Canik TP9 elite SC is a top-quality choice for your daily carry outfit. Twelve shots for flush-mount mag, 15 here, and 18 or 20 shots for the reload. There are many options when it comes to hi-cap 9mm pistols. The Canik TP9, made in Turkey, is one you might overlook if you haven’t heard of it. This pistol is known for its excellent triggers and has gained a lot of traction on competition circuits (well, not the larger models, but the one here is definitely a gun). This and reliability are always top priorities for practical competition shooters. It doesn’t matter how accurate, fast-shooting or how reliable a trigger it may be, if it’s not reliable it won’t get second glance from the competition shooters. The Sub Elite has a 12-round capacity magazine but all Canik TP 9mm magazines can fit in it. You have the option of using 12-, 15-, 18, and 20-round magazines. The Sub Elite also comes with a top plate that you can remove and replace with a red-dot sight. Canik magazines are unique, but you can find a wide range of magazines at affordable prices on the Canik website. You can easily add to the magazines that come with your pistol. What about holsters? My computer was practically bursting with options when I tried to find holsters. There are no worries. MSRP: $439FN509CThe frame of the FN509 series has adjustable backstraps that allow you to adjust the frame to your hand. The U.S. Army has provided the Compact model of the FN509 for us to try. They decided that they wanted a new pistol but could only choose one. They decided to get a new pistol, but they also knew that they could only choose one. The cold-hammer-forged barrel, replaceable backstraps and frame-mounted accessory rail are all included. Although not interchangeable as some magazines, the button that releases the magazine can be used to open it is. You can use the magazine in any pistol larger than it is. FN also offers the 509 Compact in black FDE (also known as Flat Dark Earth). The rest of us call them tan. FN makes belt-fed machine gun for our armed forces. They wouldn’t offer a pistol that was less tough than theirs, so they test drive every model. Spend some time at the gun counter to handle pistols (don’t be surprised if you only get two), and see how they fit in your hands. You say, “But it’s expensive to rent multiple pistols and purchase range ammo to find what fits.” Yes. It does. Think about it this way: A friend recommends a gun and you find out it doesn’t fit your hands. It’s not comfortable, it points incorrectly and it pinches. The financial burden of buying, selling, and buying again can be very painful. What will the gun shop do if you don’t love it? You could trade it for credit. A loss of $100 to $200 could result. This is a lot of range time, gun rental, and ammo. You need to find the one that you will not lose. Durability is another important aspect. If you go into a range with rentals, it’s possible to count on the items you see at the counter being there for either one of two reasons. They’re either unbreakable or they’re just so Hollywood-worthy that they’re still there. Ask if you are interested. “Oh, that one? It’s here because everyone wants to fire a few shots. This is a great daily carry gun. The guys and gals at the rental counter are experts on what works and what doesn’t. These guns work and you can feel safe starting with them. Make sure they fit. If they are not fitting you, you can return them. Target grids and bullseye sizes can be found in MOA. Get Free Targets
