November 12, 2022. Here’s an interesting project from one of our Forum members. Martin C. (aka Killick) modified an Anschutz 1411 Match 54 rifle prone stock to make it a great-tracking F Class Open Division Stock. No Killick did not sacrifice a perfectly good rifle to this project. He bought the Anschutz stock on eBay by himself, and then transformed it into a comfortable F-Class Open Division Stock. Killick says: “This project began about seven years ago. I purchased the Anschutz prone stock from eBay and made it into a Palma rifle using a Barnard action block and Doan Trevor cheekpiece and scope rail. About two years ago, I decided to re-task my stock/action assembly into an FOpen rig. More whittling and gluing, filling, body fillering, filling, and sanding…and more sanding…and priming, priming…and painting, waiting…painting…and painting…and before you know it, Bob’s your uncle. It looks great! It looks great! Next, Killick added a 3?-wide wooden fore-end to F-Open duties. This was done with the fire-engine red lacquer. This image shows the details of the grip and custom cheekpiece.
