Mossberg International Issues SA-410 Shotgun Product Safety Recall

The company has issued a product safety recall. This issue affects a small number of serial numbers. The company will provide details on how to repair the shotgun if you fall within the recall. This occurs when the user releases the shotshell prematurely while loading or unloading. According to the company the shotshell could come in contact with the Bolt Lock Button at the loading port if it is not properly retained. The shell could explode if it comes in contact with the Bolt Lock Button inside the loading port. The recall page does not list the serial numbers affected, but it has a form to check your serial number. While entering your serial number into this form, remember that it won’t contain the letter O. If your serial number contains the letter O, enter it as a “0” (zero). Mossberg asks you to contact them with the information of the recipient if your SA-410 has been sold or transferred. You can also share the recall information with a new owner. Two-Step Process. If your shotgun is affected, the company requests that you not load, fire, and use your SA410. The company has a simple two-step process for rectifying the issue on your own or returning it for repair: Step 1 – Contact us immediately by email at [email protected], or by calling +1 (203) 230-5300 (Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 4:30PM EST) and indicate you are calling regarding the “SA-410 Recall.” Alternatively, you can contact us by mail at Mossberg International, Inc., P.O. Box 497, 7 Grasso Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473. In your correspondence, please include the serial number for your SA-410 Shotgun. The serial number of your SA-410 Shotgun is located on the nonloading portside. (See image. Step 2 – Once we have confirmed that your SA-410 shotgun is affected by this recall, we will mail an upgraded trigger that you can replace yourself. If you are not comfortable replacing the trigger group yourself we will mail you instructions and a prepaid shipping address so you can return your shotgun to us for an upgrade.
