Here are our top six picks from the many new products that were featured in Shooting Industry magazine this month. Mossberg Turkey Models 500 and 836 with Optics Ready This year, Mossberg is offering optics-equipped shotguns of multiple gauges and models. These pump-action shotsguns feature extended turkey chokes as well as bi-color front fibre optic sights. Some models are equipped with Holosun HS407K IR red dot sights. The receivers can be mounted directly with other Shield RMSc pattern optics. The 500 models come in 20 gauge or.410 bore with a 20″ barrel and a 6-shot capacity. The 20-GA Super Bantam stock has spacers that extend the length of the pull by 1” to better fit a variety shooters. Smith & Wesson Metal-Frame Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 This new Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P9 Metal M2.0 has a beautiful OD Green Cerakote on the metal slide and frame. The ventilated slide features a C.O.R.E. plate system to mount optics and raise suppressor-height Iron Sights. This Spec Series pistol has a built-in Faxon compensation system for reduced recoil. This Spec Series Smith & Wesson M&P9 metal M2.0 comes with two 23-round mags, two 17 round magazines, a bonus blade, and a custom M&P Spec Series Challenge Coin. Springfield Armory Hellion Bullpup Carbine Springfield Armory updated its 5.56×45 (.223 Rem) Hellion Bullpup rifle. Three colors are available: Gray, Olive Drab Green and Flat Dark Earth Tan. This rifle features a 16′” barrel with a compact overall length of 28.25″. The design includes ambidextrous controls and a magazine that is located at the rear. It also has a reversible system of ejection. This gun could be a great choice for home defense. Pulsar Thermion XL50 Thermal Imaging Riflescope Pulsar’s new Thermion XL50 optical boasts impressive technology for hunters. This scope is equipped with thermal imaging capabilities, which allows you to see game animals more clearly at night or in low light. Pulsar claims that the “high-definition (temp) sensor maintains exceptional detail across the entire magnifying range, with an option to magnify in 2x increments, or in a continuous, smooth motion, depending on what the situation is.” This scope includes a built-in Laser Rangefinder, which has a range up to 875 yards in good conditions. This scope can also be connected to Pulsar’s Stream Vision Ballistics app. The App allows you to load ballistic profiles into the built-in memory of the Thermion Scope. Volquartsen Summit rifle, Straight-Pull in.17 HMR or.22WMR Have you ever shot a straight pull (also known as toggle-link action) rifle? These action types were designed for Biathlon competitors, who needed to fire fast but could not use semi-autos. The toggle action is a biathlon-style action with a lever located on the side. Pull the lever forward with your index finger to open the bolt. Then push your finger forward to close the bolt. After some practice, you’ll be able to cycle the action in just a few seconds — almost as fast as a Semi-Auto. The Summit is a very popular.22 LR gun. Volquartsen is now selling the Summit in two powerful rimfire cartridges,.17 HMR &.22WMR, in response requests from varminters. SIG Sauer P-322 Comp.22 LR Handgun SIG Sauer now offers a new.22 LR rimfire pistol, the P322-COMP. This new rimfire pistol is designed for speed, accuracy and flat shooting (low flutter muzzle). It’s ready to compete right out of its box. It comes with a red-dot optic, barrel mounted compensator, slide mounted racker, good trigger and high-capacity magazines (20 and 25 rounds).
