NRA Board of Directors elects new leaders — Hamlin & Barr

On May 20, 2024 the Board of Directors of National Rifle Association elected Doug Hamlin to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of NRA and also elected former U.S. Bob Barr is the President of the NRA. The recent Board of Directors meeting followed the 153rd NRA annual meetings & exhibits held in Dallas. Bob Barr said, “I am grateful to my colleagues for their support in my election as NRA president.” “I am a fighter and I will fight for the Second Amendment rights of millions of NRA members. I will focus my attention to growing our ranks in this election season. New NRA Vice President and CEO Hamlin was a Marine veteran who directed NRA PublicationsDoug Hamlin, the new NRA Executive Vice-President & CEO, was previously Executive Director of NRA Publications. Hamlin spent a long time in the publishing industry before joining NRA. He was also vice president and group editor of Motor Trend magazine, and served as publisher of Guns & Ammo magazine. Mr. Hamlin was a regular Marine officer for six years, including overseas service with the Third Marine Division. He has also been active in Veteran charities. Doug Hamlin said, “I’m truly humbled that the NRA Board of Directors has elected me as the next Executive vice president & CEO of NRA.” “Our Association is at an important moment in its history and the future of America, including constitutional freedoms, depends on the success the NRA.” After being elected as NRA’s Executive Vice President, Hamlin re-appointed Randy Kozuch to the position of Executive Director of NRA Institute for Legislative Action and Joseph P. De Bergalis Jr. as Executive Director of NRA general operations. The NRA Board of Directors elected William A. Bachenberg, President of Oklahoma Rifle Association as NRA Second vice president and Mark E. Vaughan as NRA First vice president. The Board of Directors re-elected Sonya Rowling as NRA treasurer and John C. Frazer, as NRA secretary. The NRA membership voted this year to create the position Chief Compliance Officer. Robert Mensinger has been elected to this position by the Board. At the event, he accepted the NRA Political Victory Fund’s (NRA-PVF’s) official endorsement for his reelection as president of the United States of America.
