NRL22X and NRL22 — Fun, affordable Rimfire Tactical matches

The National Rifle League began sponsoring centerfire tactical matches similar to PRS competitions on July 13th 2023. The NRL then added a.22 LR Rimfire Series called NRL22. This proved to be a success, so they decided to add another series. NRL22 has been a huge success because rimfire guns and ammo are very affordable. NRL22 matches are now more popular than NRL centerfire events. NRL22’s most popular matches attracted up to 200 rimfire competitors. NRL22X, a rimfire long range series, is now available. NRL22.org has more information about NRL22X and NRL22. NRL22 offers a low-cost way to enter competition shooting. There are six (6) categories: Base, Open (for men and women), Ladies, Young Guns (8-16), Aged Guns/Adaptive and Air Rifle. Base Class is designed for budget-conscious shooters. The combined MSRP for Rifle and Optic cannot exceed $1200.00. (For example, you could spend $700 for a rifle and another $500 for a scope). This keeps the sport affordable. Rifle and Optic are not limited in price for Open, Ladies, Air Rifle, Young Guns and Old Guns. Find a NRL22 match near to you by visiting NRL22.org. The NRL also sponsors NRL22X events. These are significantly longer distances and a greater challenge. In 2023, there will be 15 major NRL22X events culminating in the NRL22/NRL22X National Championships at Maxton, NC, July 7-9,2023. The two videos from Long Range Shooters of Utah show footage from the NRL22 Rimfire Competition Series January 2019 course of firing. In the lower video, note the snow-capped mountains. Useful commentary explains the shooting positions of competitors. You will need to purchase an annual NRL22 membership if you want to compete in NRL22X or NRL22. The NRL22 program compares scores from local matches such as this one to scores from other matches across the country. NRL22.org releases 5 courses of fire in advance of match dates. Each course of fire includes 2 prone stages and 1 positional stage, as well as 1 barricade. The fifth stage can be any combination of these. NRL22.org lists the details of the course, including target distances and sizes, time limits, barricade profiles and target sizes. Official NRL22 Rimfire Steel target package

A popular NRL22 Rimfire Steel Target Kit is available to help you score matches consistently. This kit, made by JC Steel Targets, is made of AR500 steel and includes 8 hanging targets, four KYL (Know your Limits) targets as well as all necessary hangers. This kit includes a lot of steel and hardware at only $394.95. You can also purchase the 2020/2021 Expansion Package for $79.95, which includes 5 additional hanging targets. NRL22 Tactical/Practical competition

NRL 22 aims to make Precision Rifle Competitions more accessible to all communities. Nearly all localities have 100-yard ranges, and the majority of shooters own a.22 LR. The NRL22 program was designed to allow any facility with a range of 100 yards to host matches. Participants from local NRL22 matches can then go to a National Championship. NRL22 has six classes: Open, Base (for men and women), Ladies, Young Guns (8-18 years old), Old Guns/Adaptive and Air Rifle. The NRL22X and NRL22 disciplines continue to grow in popularity.
