Oregonians — Vote against Oppressive Ballot Measures 114

October 28th, 2022 Oregonians — Vote Against Oppressive Ballot Measure 114 Oregon Ballot Measure 114 has been criticized by many as being the most oppressive and anti-gun legislation in the country. We urge all Oregonians to vote NO on Ballot Measure 114 in the upcoming election. We urge all Oregonians to vote “NO” on Ballot Measure 114, which will limit the Second Amendment rights. Law enforcement must maintain a registry of gun owners’ personal information, including the applicant’s legal name and current address. This data will be made public each year so that criminals can see who has guns and where they are kept. The permit must be issued only by law enforcement. A Concealed Handgun License is not valid as a permit to purchase. A Hunter Safety Certification is not eligible for a permit-to purchase. Permits must also be renewed every five years for a fee. A permit can only be issued if the instructor is a law enforcement officer. These classes can be charged at any price. There is no requirement that law enforcement agencies offer the classes necessary to obtain a permit. Firearm Magazine Restrictions: Ballot Measure114 bans all firearm magazines that contain more than 10 rounds. Measure 114 will prohibit the possession, manufacture, transfer, and use of ammunition magazines with more than 10 rounds. A magazine that is currently owned will not be allowed to be used on private property, at a shooting range, or while hunting. Ballot Measure 114 is available here. However, it does not provide funding for training conducted by sheriffs and police officers. Stop114.com explains that only police officers can provide the necessary “training” for applicants to a permit. Oregon police are both underfunded and overstaffed. There is no plan to actually provide training, and almost no police force has the resources or manpower to offer classes. According to the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association, the permit process would cost sheriffs nearly $40 million annually if someone could complete the training. The measure does not provide any funding, and the fees would not cover the costs. Ballot Measure 114, which is free in American states, could stop gun sales for up to two years.
OCTOBER 14, 2022 by David Maccar If Oregon Ballot Measure 114 passes, the state will have some of the most stringent gun laws in the country. It is likely that the state will suspend gun sales and purchases for several years as it creates a purchase permit system from scratch. This will result in a cost to taxpayers of tens of million dollars. To pass, the measure needs a simple majority. It would be effective January 1st if it passes. Amy Patrick, policy director of the Oregon Hunters Association (OHA), stated that it will take at most two years to set up a permitting system. There’s no grace period, which means FFL gun sales would simply stop until purchase permits could be issued, potentially putting gun shops out of business and preventing state residents from exercising their 2A rights. For more information visit Stop114.com and/or FreeRangeAmerican.us.
