Velcro pads are used to secure the rods to the shelf. The Rifle Rods can be used to nestle shotguns and rifles closer together than the traditional racks included with most gunsafes. The rods shown above are orange, and come with the Velcro “receiver shelf liner” that comes with the Rod Kit. This allows for narrow furniture such as lever guns to be placed close together, which saves a lot of space. You won’t get the same benefit from benchrest or varmint guns with wider fore-ends.
