Palmetto State Armory Spotlight: Keeping AKs Accessible And Interesting

Palmetto State Armory continues expanding their PSAK-47/PSAK-74 lines with interesting rifles and pistols as well as parts that won’t break the bank. Everyone has their own opinions on the quality of PSA’s products. There are a variety of evidence, including testing data and hearsay. No matter which side you are on, it is objectively true that PSAK-47 rifles have improved in quality since their initial release in 2015. Here are just a few of the new and upcoming AK products from PSA:Romanian PSAK-47 Kit Builds Here are a few of PSA’s upcoming AK products. PSA Romanian PSAK-47 Kit BuildingsWhile there is much debate about the quality of PSA AK rifles, everyone seems to agree that they have significantly improved over the years. While the first two generations of PSAK were plagued with problems as any 100% American-made Kalashnikov Kalashnikovs, their latest models have attracted a loyal following who believe their quality is now upto par. No matter what your opinion, most people would agree that the original Commbloc military factories such as Cugir can produce parts of higher quality because of their lineage and cumulative experience. PSA’s new Romanian AK builds are worth looking into if you are looking for an AK that is priced at a reasonable price. They have imported large quantities of Romanian PM md. PSA has now begun to build complete rifles from the 63 and 65 part kits. The Romanian PSAK47 kits are available in different configurations and at different prices. They almost all contain Romanian-made components. The MSRP of the Romanian PSAK-47 kits starts at $849, and can go up depending on the furniture, barrel, trigger group options, and trigger group options. DIY PSAK-47 Build Kits for those who trust the quality and want to build their own firearm, there are many options. There are several rifle and one AK pistol kits available to purchase and assemble. Unlike traditional AK build kits, which require pressing barrels and riveting, these kits come pre-barreled receivers that can be assembled by anyone. These kits require a fire control group, as well as a set of furniture. PSA offers several furniture sets and trigger group packages that can be used to complete these kits. However, surplus or aftermarket parts may also be available. The MSRP of the kits starts at $549.99, and can go up to $849.99 depending upon options. Russian PSAK-47 Kit BuildingsPSA recently announced that they will also be selling original Soviet Russian AK part kit builds. PSA will release authentic Russian AK kits, which are rarer in America than the ones available in Romania. These kits, called the SA-47 will use Tula parts kits and a few minor components on American-made PSA receivers. These rifles will be more appealing to collectors than shooters but it would still be sad to have pieces of history like these ruined by poor build quality. PSA should make these rare kits functional and beautiful. PSA AK-105 Despite the shaky release their first AK-74, and uncertain future regarding 5.45 availability PSA is still committed to their PSAK-74 project. The platform’s fans were concerned that the recent Russian ammo ban might be the end of 5.45×39. However, PSA is betting on another country buying the supply to keep the caliber alive. AK-74s are still very popular in the USA, and it is possible that as long as ammunition is available, people will also want the rifles. PSA seems to be the only company that can fill the gap, as there are very few 5.45 guns available for import at the moment. PSA AK-74s’ first batch of mistakes last year has provided insight into how to improve. Although the future of PSA AK-74s is uncertain, the company teased that their AK-105 pistol clone will be available “VERY soon”. This is despite speculation following the Russian ammo ban. PSA has been a strong supporter of the platform by releasing new and interesting AK rifles, accessories, and it doesn’t seem like they will stop soon. From simple accessories like reproduction furniture and magazines to complete rifles, PSA likely has something of interest for every AK enthusiast out there. For more information on PSA, please visit palmettostatearmory.com.More AK StuffNEXT STEP: Download Your Free Storm Tactical Printable Target Pack 62 Printable MOA Targets with DOT Drills – Rifle Range in YARDS This impressive target pack from our friends at Storm Tactical contains 62 printable targets for rifle and handgun range use.
