Proposed bill will place a 1,000% tax on AR-15s as a 2A workaround

Close (Photo by Lorie Schaull: WikiMedia commons) Democrats love to skirt the democratic process, despite all their cries about “threats against democracy”. They know how unpopular gun controls are with the American public. Gun sales increase every time they speak about gun control. They have devised a way to avoid us pesky citizens. They will place an unreasonable tax on AR-15s. RELATED STORY Canada Gun control Alert: Banning the sale and transfer of all handguns Democrat Representative proposes a bill that imposes a 1,000% tax on AR-15s. Yes, you are right. Democrats know that gun control will fail if it is not based on true democratic processes. Gun control is not only a failing ideology, but it also encourages more people to buy firearms. Record numbers of people are buying their first guns, even those who have never owned a firearm before. Americans are tired of the American fallacy of disarming citizens, defunding police forces, and being soft on criminals. How can gun grabbers get around us law-abiding Americans? Tax us out of your rights. Breitbart News reports that “Rep. Breitbart News reports that Don Beyer (D-VA), is pushing for a 1,000 percent tax AR-15s and other semiautomatic weapons that Democrats label as “assault weapons.” This reminds me of Braveheart, where the king reinstated Prima Nocta. They’ll tax us if they can’t get us out. This is only a step in the right direction, even though the language they are using indicates that this will be applicable to modern sporting rifles. This is the real plan. CBS News recently stated the quiet part loudly: “The proposed bill places an excise tax of 1,000% on any type semi-automatic firearm. This pushes up the price of a military-style weapon beyond many potential buyers.” (Emphasis mine). It could be that they don’t realize that AR-15s aren’t the only firearms that have a semi-automatic action. They might not be aware that many pistols are also semi-automatic. I believe they know this and just hope that no one notices. This is evident in the recent statements by President Biden that he plans to pursue 9mm pistols. So Much for Democracy. Have you ever noticed how Democrats view any situation that isn’t favorable as a threat to democracy. They throw democracy out the window every time it gets in their way. It should not surprise that they tried to find a way to pass the bill without any interference from the democratic process. CBS News reports that the bill, which is a revenue measure, could be introduced through reconciliation, which would only require approval by 50 senators instead of the 60 required to pass most legislation. Fritschner said that the bill would only need a simple majority to be passed. Reality proves this is false. If this were true, we wouldn’t have record-breaking numbers of first-time home buyers in recent years. The facts don’t support the narrative. Breitbart News reports that “On November 17, 2020 Breitbart News reported National Shooting Sports Foundation numbers showing that Americans have an estimated 434,000,000 firearms. Nearly 20 million firearms in that group are Modern Sporting Rifles. These firearms are classified by the Democrats as ‘assault weapon’. According to the firearms trade organization NSSF, nearly half of all rifles manufactured in the U.S. in 2018 or imported in 2018, were AR style weapons. The group estimated that there were approximately 20 million AR-style firearms in America in 2020. The Destruction of an Entire Industry Unfortunately there is a hidden price to legislation like this. It cannot be understated. This legislation could lead to the total destruction of the firearm industry. According to the Washington Times, a new AR-15-style rifle can cost consumers anywhere from $400 to $2,000 depending on its modifications. The $1,000% tax imposed by Mr. Beyer could increase the price to anywhere from $4,000 to $20,000, depending on how it is modified. Very few people can afford to buy a firearm at such a high price. I think there is almost no way to ensure that the industry continues to thrive. A market that cannot afford its goods or services is not able to sustain an industry. This is a downright dirty pool and they know it. My prediction is that there will be another explosion in AR-15 sales before the law is passed. This is yet another proof that the American people support the Second Amendment over gun controls. Sign up for the Personal Defense World newsletter today to stay in the loop!
