Remington has closed its Ilion, New York gun factory after more than two centuries of operation. The move to Georgia has resulted in the loss of over 300 jobs. Officials from the city, county, and state are “actively working” on a new use for the facility. Several of Remington Firearms’ strategic products will be produced in Georgia. The new headquarters will house an innovative research and design center. Vista Outdoor, the parent company of CCI Federal, RCBS, and other major brands in the shooting/outdoor industries, acquired Remington’s ammo business.
