Ruger-Made Marlin SBL Lever-Action Rifles now available

Marlin’s 1895 SBL lever action rifle is now available for purchase, the first time since Ruger acquired the company in August 2020. Marlin’s acquisition by Ruger in the wake of Remington’s bankruptcy declaration gave many lever-gat fans hope for the future of the company. However, they waited for no news for over a year. They have finally been rewarded for their patience as Ruger and Marlin announced that the 1895 SBL lever action will soon be available on store shelves. The 1895 SBL lever action is now being produced in Ruger’s North Carolina plant. It will feature the same features as the Marlin examples, but will be made using new manufacturing methods.
We are thrilled to flip the switch and inform our customers that Marlin is back. Since the November 2020 move of more than 100 truckloads inventory and equipment, our engineering team put the 1895 through a thorough design and production review. This was done in an effort to achieve the highest quality, accuracy and performance standards. The result is a high-quality rifle that consumers will love and be proud to own, made using modern manufacturing techniques.
The Ruger 1895 SBL in.45-70 Gov’t is the first Marlin lever action to be manufactured. However, the company claims it plans to expand into new models and calibers such as the Model 336 or Model 1894. The only thing that has changed on the Ruger-made 1895 SBL is its markings. The 1895 SBL is priced at $1,399 and should be available in stores soon.
