You can. Ruger adapted the Super Redhawk frame in order to create the Super GP100 revolver. The Super GP100 9mm revolver has a stubby, 8-round PVD coated cylinder that is designed to fit the 9x19mm rounds. Guns.com reports that the 9mm GP100 uses a cylinder with an extractor that is cut to fit moon clips for faster reloading. Reviewer Boge Quinn called this a “competition-grade gun” with a nice fit and finish. The Super GP100 had a 9.5 lb double action pull and a 4.5 lb single-action trigger pull out of the box. Quinn noted that it took some time for the trigger pull to smoothen out. He also said that it was difficult to remove spent cartridges if you did not use the moon-clips supplied: “You don’t have to use one, but I don’t know why you would… it just works that way.” The 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge (also known as the 9mm Luger) was introduced by German weapons manufacturer Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken in 1902 for the Luger semiautomatic pistol. Ruger has developed a 6?-barrel, sturdy revolver to fit this popular cartridge 120 years after its introduction. Ruger adapted the Super Redhawk frame to make this Super GP100 revolver. The stainless steel cylinder has been fluted and shortened in order to reduce the overall mass and increase the rotational speed. The cylinder has a PVD finish to ensure durability and ease of removal. The internals are polished and optimized, with a centering button on the trigger and shims at the hammer to ensure a smooth, double-action pull and crisp/consistent release. Moon clips are cut into the cylinder and extractor to speed up reloading in intense competition. The moon clip tool and three full moon clips are included. The chamber and ejector mouths are chamfered to make it easier to load with moon clips. Hand-finished Hogue hardwood grip gives a smooth and polished feel. Grip frame can accommodate a variety of custom grips. Transfer bar mechanism prevents accidental discharge. Cold hammer forged barrels have precise rifling to ensure accuracy and durability.
