You may already be familiar with PRS/NRL but wish to upgrade your equipment or improve your match results. Here are eight videos to help you improve your game. These videos feature top PRS/NRL tactical competitors and George Gardner from G.A. Precision is considered to be one of the founding dads of the PRS sport. In this video, MDT puts three of the world’s top centerfire PRS shooting stars through the most difficult stages. The goal? To demonstrate the level of precision and accuracy these top shooters are capable of. These shooters show why they are among the best in world. They can hit targets from rooftops, rocks and barricades. The video examines the pros and cons of different cartridge choices. It focuses on accuracy, mag-feeding and value for money. This segment features G.A. George Gardner, owner/founder of Precision. Most top PRS shooters use 6mm cartridges today. These cartridges deliver excellent accuracy, with less recoil and lower bullet costs. Popular choices include the 6 Dasher, the 6 BRA, the 6mm Creedmoor and 6XC cartridges. The new 6GT is a stretched version 6mmBR. It has a longer case for easier feeding and a larger case volume than a 6BR, so you can easily shoot 105-108 grain Bullets at 2950 fps. PRS Tactical Division – Rifle, Ammo and Set-up In this video MDT Shooter Matt Stiner explains some of the basics for competition in the PRS Tactical Division. Dave Preston is one of the best PRS stage runners in the country. Dave Preston is the only one who has ever shot 100% with a fastest recorded time. In this video, you’ll see Dave successfully nail all eight of his shots in less than 43 seconds. This video includes a POV (at 4:35) sequence showing the actual view from Dave’s scope. The PRS Skills Barricade, an 8-round stage with four positions, is featured at most PRS events. It is called a “Skills Stage”, as it is the same at every national match. Shooters can compare their skill levels by comparing hit percentages and speed. The target is a 10-inch plate at 400 yards. plate at 400 yards. There are four positions with two shots per position. You have to make decisions about your rifle’s accuracy, and your ability to stay on target. You can increase your score by hitting the smallest targets, but you will lose points if you miss. Clay explains the best way to manage the Know Your Limits stage. PRS on a budget — Converting an ordinary rifle for PRS use Top-of-the-line rifles for competition can be expensive. But there is another alternative if you already have a rifle that you don’t use often. Keith Glasscock, a top F-Class shooter who is also a wind coach, says: “I converted my Remington.223 varmint into a Tactical Class/PRS Training rifle to save on ammunition and barrels. This will help me get better faster.” Keith Glasscock shows us a very logical approach to getting started in the PRS/NRL world. We have noticed that the maximum price for “factory classes” has steadily increased over the years. It is now $3000. Even in the lowest division, you’ll still be spending a lot of money.
