Erik Cortina video showcase April 22nd 2023Erik Cortina, one of the top F-Class shooters in the world. Erik Cortina won the 2023 Southwest Nationals F-Open Division and was a part of Team USA that won the F-Open World Championships in South Africa. Erik won the F-Open individual title at the South African National Championship, which preceded the F-Class Worlds in 2023. Erik has also competed in Long-Range Rifle and Precision Rifle matches. Erik is also a respected host of videos. His Erik Cortina Video Channel has nearly 500 videos covering a variety of shooting disciplines as well as reloading and load tuning. This Saturday, we will be featuring nine of Erik’s informative videos. These videos cover reloading tips, marksmanship techniques, and more. Both of these “shorts” are worth watching. In the first video, you can see Erik hit five targets in a row at 500 yards. The last target is a tiny square.Cortina with 6mmBR nails ‘Em all

[embedded text] Barrel Break In — Don’t waste barrel life A factory barrel may benefit from a breaking-in regimen. Some custom barrels are ready to shoot right out of the box and don’t need elaborate break-in procedures. In this popular video Erik explains the process he uses to determine which break-in procedure is best for his barrels. “Deciding whether you need a barrel broken-in is not as simple as many people think. In this video I explain the process I use to decide if I should break in a barrel. “Smallest 1,000-yard Group Ever Caught On Camera This 1000 yard group was NOT shot at a match so it is not an official record. But Erik shot a truly spectacular group during practice. This is what modern F class rifles can achieve in ideal conditions. Erik drilled five rounds in 1.3? Erik drilled five shots in 1.3? (see 1:15 – 2:20 time). The first three shots landed on top of one another (about 1/4?) Erik writes: “While shooting, i decided to set up the camera and record the screen of my phone so that i could see the shots in my Electronic Target. To my surprise, I found that the shots kept piling up on top of one another. I had a three-shot group that was under 1/4 inch. This is a 1,000-yard group that would make most shooters happy. “Common Sense Reloading” is a video that novice reloaders must watch. Erik explains how to reload accurately for rifles. Erik explains that “we as humans tend to complicate things and reloading’s no different.” We think that the more complicated something is, the better it will be. Today I will explain how to have a consistent, efficient load. Once you correct these three things, you will always have a good loading. “Team USA F-Open World Champions. The 2023 F-Class World Championships took place in South Africa. Many talented teams were present. The U.S.A. F-Open Team won the F-Open Team Championship after a strong come-from-behind victory on the final day of the match. (South Africa finished the match with a score of 3535-374V – a “V”, in the USA, is the same as an “X”). Congratulations to the 2023 USA F-Open Team, the new World Champions. Erik Cortina, a former member of Team USA, was the video’s star. Erik explains that neck-sizing is not the best option. You’ll get a better case life, and more consistent loads for almost all rifle applications if you size your cases to full length. Full-length sizing is also essential for shoulder bumping which is necessary for case-feeding and a smooth bolt closure. Full-length sizing is also important for optimizing ES and SD. Precision Reloading class at PRS Expo 2020 This 8-minute video documents a seminar Erik gave at the PRS Expo in 2022. Erik explains accuracy in this segment. He says that bullets are expensive and critical to accuracy. Therefore, competitors should never try to cut costs. Click here to view part two of Erik’s presentation.
Cortina Precision produces some of the best barrel tuneers on the market. The EC Tuner has won many championships since its development over a decade before. The EC Tuner has been redesigned and released as the EC Tuner V2. The V2 model uses a spring that maintains the load on the tuner and eliminates backlash. This helps to maintain consistency. The EC Tuner V2 is suitable for all types of rifles, including air rifles, whether they are centerfire or rimfire. Cortina Precision offers the EC Tuner Brake. The Tuner Brake is a combination of a barrel tuneer and a muzzle stop. The EC Tuner brake reduces recoil to a great extent and allows you tune your rifle according to your load. These Tuner Brakes work well with both handloads and factory loaded ammunition.
