Savage Arms Announces 1911 Government Model Pistols

Savage Arms introduced the Stance pistol in 2021, its first handgun in more than 100 years. However, the company is expanding its range to include Savage 1911 Government Model pistols. There are 12 model options to choose from, each chambered for either.45 ACP or 9mm. All 12 Savage 1911 models feature a 5-inch machined stainless-steel barrel with an 11 degree target crown. The pistols look largely like traditional 1911s, with forged stainless-steel frames and slides. However, Savage added some nontraditional performance upgrades. Savage 1911s have dual recoil springs, fully machined sears, and hammers. The firing pins are made of titanium with a nitride coating and have been flared and lowered at the ejection ports. The models will all have an ambidextrous safety feature, VZ G10 grips, Novak rear sights, and the rail models and two-tone models will include a tritium sight. There are 12 models available to choose from, with a variety of finishes, calibers, and frame styles. There are two caliber options: 9mm and.45 ACP. Finish options include stainless, black nitride and two-tone. Frame styles include rail and no rail. The.45 ACP models come with two 8-round magazines, while the 9mm models come with two 10-round magazines.
