The crisis in Ukraine is causing a lot of concern. However, Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice-president of SAF, said that American gun owners can help. “We are asking our fellow gun owners and rights advocates to support Zbroya (the Ukranian Gun Owners Association)” “UGOA is a member of the Int’l Association for the Protection of Civilian Arms Rights, (IAPCAR), which SAF helped to organize more than a decade back. Gun owners in Ukraine need support now more than ever because civil arms rights are more important than ever in this country. Gottlieb stated that “our brother and sister gun owners fighting for their lives in Ukraine” and that now was the time for gun owners around the country and the world to help them in their hour. Gottlieb recalled that IAPCAR was founded to emphasize the importance of civilian arms rights. “When a nation is threatened with their very existence, responsibility falls to the people, to the patriots willing and able to take up arms and defend the nation. “If anyone is unsure why the right to keep or bear arms is so important, they need only watch the evening news to find out. Our fledgling nation was fighting for its existence more than 200 years ago. Although times have changed, the situation for the people of Ukraine is still the same.
