Shadow Systems CR920P 9mm Integrated Compensator

Shadow Systems’ newest subcompact, CR920P with integrated compensator, was unveiled at the SHOT Show 2023. The unique design of the compensator attachment makes it small enough to fit in a G48 holster. The subcompact also comes standard with a 13-round or 10-round magazine.

The CR920P builds upon the CR920 subcompact frame with its aggressively textured texture. The slide also features top and rear cocking serrations. A steel rear sight and tritium front sight are mounted on the slide.

The Shadow Systems multi-footprint optic cut, which is patented by Shadow Systems, allows for direct mounting of almost all brands of mini-RDS opticals. A match-grade, stainless steel spiral-fluted barrel is also included in the slide. Both the slide and compensator have a black nitride coating.

Shadow Systems’ goal in designing the CR920P was to maximize space for the attachment of the compensator. The company ruled out the use of a traditional threaded barrel. Instead, it uses a 3-lug muzzle which works in conjunction with a centrally located locking knob in the body.

The 3-lug muzzle permits self-indexing and locking attachments within a small space. The subcompact pistol can be carried in a G48 holster. It is also compliant in jurisdictions that ban threaded barrels, as it does away with the threaded barrel. The company also stated that similar attachments of other muzzle devices such as suppressors may be possible through the engineering of this attachment process.

The compensator can be used with standard-weight factorysprings and different bullet weights. Test shooters also reported a 40% decrease in muzzle rise. According to the company, after thousands of rounds of testing, there was no loss in reliability and no carbon lockout.

Rounds are sent downrange by a drop-safe flat-faced trigger that weighs 4.5-5.0 pounds and has a crisp, tactile reset. The pistol comes in a zippered pistol rug that contains two magazines, one 13-round and one 10-round flush fit.
