These videos will help you improve your pistol shooting speed and accuracy. These tips may not help you win a Bianchi cup title, but they can be helpful in club IDPA matches or at the pistol stages of your next 3-Gun match. Doug Koenig (19-time Bianchi Cup champ) is the star of these videos. Many consider Koenig to be the world’s best action pistol shooter. He has won many National and World pistol titles. His speed, consistency, accuracy, and speed are unsurpassed. You will want to keep both your eyes open during a “move-and-shoot” action pistol match. Both eyes should be open to improve depth perception and target transitions. “It’s very simple. I wouldn’t drive my car if one eye was closed. I wouldn’t allow one eye to be closed when I walked around the house. It’s all about depth perception and vision to me. Doug Koenig: Having both eyes open will improve depth perception and peripheral vision. You will also be able more quickly to move from target to target. You will need to move your head/eyes towards the next target in a multi-target, timed stage. When you see the target, you’ll notice that your handgun will automatically move to the next target. Do not linger on the target that you just shot. Move on to the next target. 18-Time Bianchi Cup winner Doug Koenig explains how quickly to acquire your first target and how to make sure your first shot is a success. Doug points out that a great first shot will have a positive impact on the subsequent shots in a competition. Make Fast Follow Up ShotsIn this next NSSF video Koenig demonstrates how fast follow-up shots can be made and how to quickly transition from target to target. Doug explains that grip, stance and consistency are important. Trigger Press and trigger controlIn this fourth video Koenig discusses key techniques that can be applied to pistol marksmanship, not just speed shooting “on-the clock”. Doug explains that you need to be consistent with trigger control when using any handgun. Avoid pulling the trigger or anticipating recoil. Doug Koenig’s List Of Championships:

10-time World Champion

19-time Bianchi Cup winner

2016 NRA World Shooting Champion

More than 70 National Championships

6-time World Action Pistol Championship winner
