Laugo Arms, the Alien gun maker, has just announced the Creator pistol. This new version of the Alien was specifically designed for the U.S. market. Although the gun is expensive, it’s still affordable for most people. However, the unique design of the gun was too intriguing and unusual to be ignored. The pistol’s design is so different from any other handgun in the world that Alien may be the best name. The pistol is advertised as having the “lowest bore axis in all of the world.” Second, it uses a gas piston delayed-blowback action with a fixed barrel. Third, the slide only moves the sides, so the sights are still stationary when cycling. The trigger is extremely crisp and adjustable. All these features combine to create a very precise and low-recoiling handgun. The grip angle has been adjusted to look more like a 1911. This is the most significant update. While the grip of the original Alien was more Glock-like than the Creator’s, it felt much more natural to me. Today I had the chance to shoot both sides and the Creator felt better in every way. The new modular grip, which can be customized with a variety of options (front straps, back straps and cheeks), was another reason. When the Laugo Creator will be released in 2023, it will likely come in a package that includes enough grip options to suit every shooter. You can also replace the magwell and top of your slide with other styles. The Creator pistol’s standout feature for the U.S. market are the American flags. Although this package is quite expensive (currently estimated MSRP at $6,500), it is well worth the investment.
