The SHOT Show had a lot of new guns, gears, gadgets and optics this year. We gathered 32 of our favourite new items, including a dozen new Holsters, and created a complete “must-have” list for Combat Handguns’ June/May issue.
Combat Handguns May/June 2023 – Bringing the Heat
Wilson Combat firearms are a great way to get your hands on a weapon. The Berryville, Arkansas-based company is best known for their high-quality 1911 pistols. But, they never stop improving. Their pistols, and AR-style rifles, are true works of art.
I was able to use one of their rifles during a hunt for hogs and deer a few years ago. The hardest part of the hunt was stopping the men in camp from stealing the rifle from the cabin.
Wilson Combat and Sig Sauer
This brings us to the cover feature. Wilson Combat and Sig Sauer have recently collaborated to create what might be the most impressive P365 ever. This hot CCW was first presented to our editorial staff at the annual Rendezvous in fall 2022. Garrett Lucas’ detailed review of Wilson’s WCP365 is available on page 14. Start saving for your own.
Athlon Outdoors contributors were able to get a lot more sneak peeks at Rendezvous 22. They have also tested many new guns, and accessories. Aside from the WCP365, this issue’s coverage of two great suppressors–SilencerCo’s Osprey 45 2.0 and Silencer Central’s Banish–began back at that annual event. The Wilson Combat AR9X was another gun that was shown at Rendezvous. It has been tested and approved to be included in this issue.
For all those who are trying to send us an email, please be aware that the pistol-caliber carbine of Wilson is not a combat handgun. The AR9X is a 9mm carbine that’s a beautiful addition to any collection.
ATF is currently redefining firearms. Braced pistols can now legally be considered short-barreled rifles.
