SHOT Show: The FightLite CCR Bandito Pistol in 5.56 / 300BLK

As I was making my way down the SHOT Show 2023 Media Day at The Range, I came across the SCR Bandito pistol by FightLite. The modern version of the “Mares Leg”, I was captivated by it and decided to shoot it. I can honestly say that I had a blast after sending a full magazine downrange. Pun intended. This is a small, fun firearm that can be easily stored for travel. The FightLite SCR Bandito Pistol is chambered in either 5.56 or.300BLK. It measures 21.25 inches overall. The grip will be available either in billet aluminum or polymer. It is a pistol grip so it will not be affected the ATF pistol brace ban. It is also exempt from FFL SBR requirements, as it is a pistol. The Bandito features a modern “Mares Leg”, pistol design that fires modern rifle-caliber ammunition via detachable AR type magazines. It can accept any AR-15 or M16 magazine. It comes with a 10-round magazine ready to use. It is made of high-strength aerospace materials and coated with non-reflective MIL Spec coatings to ensure maximum corrosion resistance. It can withstand extreme operating conditions such as rain, snow, ice, and mud. For maximum accuracy, the Bandito has a 7.25-inch 4150 Vanadium barrel that is gas-ferritic and nitrocarburized. The barrels can be threaded 1/2-28 TPI on 5.56 NATO barrels, and 5/8-24 on.300 barrels. The Bandito can accept common suppressor mounts and flash hiders as well as muzzle brakes straight out of the box. The SCR (Sport Configurable Rifle), Bandito can be configured by the end user and is compatible with many MSR accessories and parts. This includes magazines, upper receivers barrels bolts, optics, bolts, bolts, and many other accessories. The Bandito also comes with a Picatinny toprail that measures 12 inches long for mounting modern optics and accessories. It is also available with a handguard option, which supports Magpul M-Lok accessory mountings. Editor’s note: The Bandito was available for me to shoot during SHOT Show. Despite its small size, it had very low recoil. It was great fun to shoot, and would make a great truck gun with its small size. FightLite also has a scabbard specifically made for this purpose. The FightLite SCR Bandito Pistol is expected to be available in the next few months. There is no specific date. FightLite.com has more information.
