August 12th, 201226mm Creedmoor Load data from Sierra Plus PRB Bonus
NOTE: The official SAAMI specification now covers the 6mm Creedmoor. It’s not just a wildcat. Sierra Bullets has published load data on the 6mm Creedmoor cartridge. This is a necked version of the popular and highly-regarded 6.5 Creedmoor. Sierra has published loads data for the 6mm Creedmoor cartridge, which covers fifteen (15) bullets ranging in weight from 55 to 110 grains. NOTE: Sierra’s 6mm Creedmoor load test results used Hornady-brand brass, not the stronger Lapua 6.5 CM brass, which has smaller primer pockets. Hand-loaders using Lapua6.5 Creedmoor brass necked down to 6mm may need to adjust their loads. Sierra writes: “A 6mm version of the 6.5 Creedmoor was envisioned as soon as it was released in 2007. The 6mm Creedmoor proved its worth at 1000 yards and began to attract the attention of Precision Rifle Series competitors. The 6mm Creedmoor cartridge is an excellent choice for AR platform-friendly shooters. It has a velocity that is very similar to the AR243 Win, but it fits the AR10 magazine length. This case is very efficient and has a 30-degree shoulder which helps to prolong the case’s life. For heavier long-range bullets, the 6mm Creedmoor powder works well with powders like H4350, [RE-16], RE-17 and Ramshot Hunter. Lighter bullets can be used with slightly faster powders like Win 760, RE-15, and Vihtavuori 540. “Sierra Bullets for 6mm Creedmoor LoadData 55gr BlitzKing (#1502)

Sierra tested a variety of medium-burning powders, including Reloder 16, Reloder 17, Varget and Superformance, for the heavier bullets 100+ grains. Sierra did an excellent job. This information is sure to be appreciated by 6mm Creedmoor shooters. Our Forum members recommend Alliant Reloder 16 for 107-110 grain bullets. If you want to achieve maximum accuracy and low ES/SD, we recommend Hodgdon H4350. Hodgdon Superformance or Reloder 19 are recommended for maximum velocity with the 110-grainer bullets. Here are Sierra’s 6mm Creedmoor Load Data charts for 90-95 grain bullets, plus the 107gr and 110gr respectively.
