Sig Sauer & Daniel Winkler Release LEGION Operator Knife

Daniel Winkler, even if you don’t like knives, is a name you probably know, whether you know it or not. Daniel Winkler first made his mark designing tomahawks in the film The Last of the Mohicans. Since then, he’s built combat/breaching knives for America’s Special Operators. You may have seen his work most recently in Terminal List when James Reece eviscerates an enemy with a pair Winkler’s Hawks. Daniel Winkler has teamed up with Sig-Sauer and Special Operations Forces Operator Kevin Holland to create the LEGION Operator Knife. Kevin Holland, who has extensive experience in special operations with both the U.S. Navy SEALS and the U.S. Army Special Operations, designed the Daniel Winkler LEGION operator knife. His experience in the field led to the creation of the Operator Knife. When it came time to choose the right maker for the job, Daniel Winkler, a master bladesmith was the obvious choice. The Operator Knife has an overall length of nine inches and is made of 80CrV2 throughout the full-tang design. 80CrV2 is a tough steel that can withstand the stress and impact of hard use. It is also easy to sharpen on the field. It is a great choice for both military and civilian field utility knives. The 4.75-inch blade is simple in design and has a non-glare finish to allow for clandestine usage. A thumb ramp is located just forward of the grip, and has jimping to prevent slipping, even when wet. The aggressive tip allows for maximum penetration of even the most difficult subject matter. The presentation side features the Sig Medallion, while on the obverse is the LEGION chevron. The grip is ergonomically designed to lock the hand in place, whether it’s used for a forward or reverse grip. The rough finish micarta scales also provide a non-slip grip. The knife is supplied with a Kydex sheath that has excellent retention. (Photo by Sig Sauer) The sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally, depending on its configuration. Daniel Winkler’s LEGION Operator knife is available with an MSRP $379.99. Visit SigSauer.com for more information.
