SK Arms has added Ares to its Gods of Olympus Engravers Series. Ares is the God of war and bravery. The Ares follows the exquisite characteristics of both the first two in this series, Zeus and Poseidon, by using a Smith & Wesson Full Size 1913 to tell the story of the son Zeus. The Ares, chambered in.45 ACP is both functional and worthy of display.

The pistol, which uses a Smith & Wesson 1911 Full Size as a canvas to depict the life of one the most prominent and well-known Olympians, is engraved and gold plated. Ares, the god of war is a personification of brutality and bloodlust. A connection with Ares is also thought to endow objects, places, and other gods with savage or dangerous qualities.
Ares’ spear is plated in 24K gold and has a sauroter (spear cap) that runs the length of the slide. Ares’ shield, helmet, and sword are plated in 24K gold on the right side. Deep engravings also represent deep cracks on the Earth’s surface caused by battle. Flames surround the scene, using SK’s highly-reflective conversion technique. The back of the slide has a vulture perched atop the serial numbers XXX/200.
The obverse of the slide features scenes of Ares epic battles in 24K Gold surrounded by fire. The flames on the slide are accompanied by light whisps that add depth to the scene. Behind the broken earth at the back of the slide is a representation of Ares as the wild boar he became to kill Adonis.
The grips, made of black Kirinite, have a Greek Key border around each side. Within the border, on the right side, is Ares in battle armor with a 24K gold spear. On the left, Ares’ vulture with dog represents loyalty and protection.
All controls are plated in 24K gold, which contrasts the polished steel slide and frame. The extractor, skeletonized bushing, hammer and magazine baseplate have all been plated with 24K gold.

“Ares is the Greek god of war, courage and strength, and he is one of the most recognized Olympians,” stated Simon Khiabani. He’s the owner and founder at SK Customs. 1911 collectors can now own a beautifully designed gun that represents some of the oldest stories around the world.

The SK Arms Gods of Olympus Engraver Series Zeus Custom 1909
The Gods of Olympus Engraver Series is based on the 1911 E-Series in full size (.45ACP) with approval from Smith & Wesson. The slide, frame and grip are engraved with clouds to immortalize some of Zeus’ absolute power. This represents his control over the weather and sky. The artwork on the side of the slide depicts Zeus directing thunder, lightning, rain and strong winds. Zeus’s companion eagle, Aetos Dios, is copper-plated.
The shield of Zeus, Aegis is displayed on the obverse. The shield shows the head of Gorgon. She was the sister of Medusa and roared in battle.
The cloud theme is further enhanced by the custom-made forward and rear slide serrations. On one side, just behind the rear serrations is a depiction a bull. Zeus was often represented by this animal. The opposite side shows the eagle Aetos dios, with a numberplate indicating the number of the 200-issue.
A proprietary conversion coat provides a highly-reflective Sky-blue backdrop behind the gold- and copper-plated artwork to further the sky theme. The frame flats also feature a satin-finish polish. A new Novak front site with an authentic center-set Yellow Diamond, evoking the grandeur and power of Zeus, rides atop the slide.
Pearl grips are the interface between man and steel. They feature Greek key meanders and grip art. Zeus is seated on his throne on one side and Mount Olympus is depicted on the other. The hardware is also plated in 24 KT gold to highlight the filled engravings on the grips.
