Since before I could even think about kissing a girl, I have been shooting since I was a teenager. I have done it professionally, recreationally, and competitively. A key principle of shooting, especially when hunting, is to get closer. You can get steadier by using shooting sticks or a tripod to support your rifle. I’d like to share with you what I consider to be the most versatile and comprehensive bipod/tripod system available for hunters and shooters. Spartan Precision Equipment has assembled this collection of gear. Spartan Precision Equipment’s Javelin bipod was my introduction to Spartan Precision Equipment. Spartan Precision Equipment was a great choice for me as I was shooting and hunting with scout rifles. I needed a bipod that I could use with my Scout rifles and wouldn’t make the rifle weigh more than Jeff Cooper’s 3 to 2.5 kilo minimum. Spartan’s Javelin Bipod was an accidental discovery. I requested a sample and have been using it for four years. The Javelin bipod can be carried in a pocket and attached to your rifle in seconds. This receptacle replaces the forward-sling swivel screws. A stud from the Javelin bipod fits in this receptacle. The magnet holds the bipod in place. Spartan currently offers three versions the Javelin bipod. The Lite version is a mere 4.5 ounces in weight, while the Pro Hunt weighs 6.4 ounces. The Pro Hunt Tactical weighs 8.3 ounces. Prices range from $145 up to $350 and each level adds additional features. The prices range from $145 to $350, with each step up adding additional features. You can attach the magnetic stud in just 2 seconds and then you can shoot. The bipod can also be removed quickly. The bipod can be removed quickly, however, the magnet is strong enough that you can move the rifle around and change your position. There are three types of mounting adapters available: one for the sling swivel, one for the Picatinny rail and one for the key-mod attachment. One will even fit an UIT (Anschutz). The Gunsmith adapter, which can be installed in the stock to provide a nearly flush fit, is perhaps the most impressive feature. I use nearly all of these adapters on different rifles because it allows me only to invest in one bipod and tripod that will work with my long-guns. This is due to my love for the Javelin bipod, but also because Spartan Precision Equipment’s tripods. Spartan’s tripod system made me a believer. The Third LegTheir tripod system attaches directly to your rifle using the same adapters that the bipods use. This tripod system provides a stronger, three-legged support than standard two-legged shooting sticks. The tripods can also support any rifle attached to them. You can put your rifle on the tripod and leave it there. You can keep your rifle on the tripod and still have your hands free to handle glass. It’s great for stalking and even better for calling predators. Spartan has two tripod systems. They are worth every penny, considering their incredible versatility. The Ascent version has between 10.5 and 53 inches of ground clearance. It can also be used to cant 50 degrees and pan 360 degrees. It is compacted to only 26.4 inches in length and weighs only 3.3 pounds. Both offer the same cant and pan abilities as the Ascent tripod. However, the Sentinel Mountain has between 25-47 inches of ground clearance while the Woodland Sentinel has between 32-67 inches. The Mountain version weighs 47.6 ounces and the Woodland version 54.6 ounces. The prices range from $650 up to $999. Although that may sound high-priced, when you consider how light they are compared to other tripods and the many attachment options available, you’ll soon see their value. These tripods can support your rifle and can also hold a binocular or spotting scope, smartphone or video camera. Spartan Precision Equipment also offers one-man tents. Spartan’s Trekking Pole Handles can be used to make three sturdy, lightweight walking sticks. The wide variety of tripod legs and bipod legs can be cross-compatible, so there are many options. Spartan also offers a V-shaped rubber boot, which attaches to the tripod’s magnet. This gives you a traditional shooting rest that is similar to what you would find on tripods or shooting sticks. This was useful when I was hunting buffalo with my double rifle, which didn’t have the option to mount Spartan attachment devices. The Valhalla Bipod is a tactical bipod that weighs in at 13 ounces. It can attach via a Picatinny rail mount or M-lok Spigot mount. However, it can also be attached to any tripod system’s magnetic stud. The Valhalla is ideal for shooting from a prone position and can attach to any Spartan tripod instantly. This leads to practical products. Gearing has the problem that nothing is ever good enough. He constantly tweaks the systems and creates new accessories to make them even more practical. A suction cup mount allows the mounting of a rifle with a Spartan adapter attached to secure it to a glass surface. He also designed a clamp system that can be used with a shoothouse or picnic table. Spartan tripods are versatile enough to hold many types of hunting and shooting tools. I will not go to the range without one. They have been used to support trophy photos, video cameras, and spotting scopes and binoculars. Every serious shooting rifle I own has an adapter that allows them to be used with a Spartan tripod and bipod. Spartan Javelin Lite bipod used on an AR-15. The bipod is extremely lightweight, compact, and versatile. It offers great shooting support. It can do so much more. Spartan Precision Equipment is making it possible. Their latest invention is the Davros Head, which attaches to Primos Trigger Sticks. It functions like the magnetic head on all their tripods. It costs only $75 and is a great way to get familiar with the system. It doesn’t matter what it is, it will be very practical and compatible with their existing extensive range of products.
