SSG Amanda Elsenboss wins the National High Power Championship
Hail the new Champion — SSG Amanda Elsenboss, 2021 NRA High Power Rifle National Champ, is hail! Amanda won the High Power title with a Grand Agregate score of 2386-133X. This is a significant achievement for Amanda. Amanda, Nancy Tompkins, and Nancy’s daughter Sherri Galagher are the only two females to have won the highly coveted High Power title. We believe this is the first ever time that a woman has won the High Power title shooting a Service Rifle at all matches.

Elsenboss was formerly with U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. She now competes with Pennsylvania Army National Guard Team. She is a High Master in NRA Higher Power. SSG John Coggshall, Army National Guard, was second overall with a score 2380-125X. Like Amanda, Coggshall shot a Service Rifle. Kenneth Lankford shot a Match Rifle and finished third with 2379-104X.

The match took place at Camp Atterbury in Indiana, August 22-28. On her Facebook Page, Amanda posted:
“Today was a great experience. After four hot, tiring days at the range, I won the 2021 NRA [High Power] Rifle Championships. We are grateful for everyone’s support and encouragement. Congratulations to John Coggshall, who came in second overall and second Service Rifle. Kirk Freeman was third Service Rifle. It was a great shooting day by the Guard… and everyone really made the last day count.

Amanda said that Perry SabertoothX Mayfly was her biggest supporter. (Photo above taken in Amanda’s shooting cart at Camp Atterbury).
Amanda Took 2nd in Long Range before Her High Power Victory

Amanda finished second in the 2021 NRA Long Range National Championship.
It has been an amazing summer for Amanda Atterbury. She was second at the 2021 NRA Long-Range Nationals behind Oliver Milanovic and won the Canadian Cup at Atterbury. Amanda was competing at Camp Perry with National Guard All Guard Marksmanship Team. She scored perfect individual scores in both Hearst Doubles and the National Trophy team events. Her National Record was her 500-34X in National Trophy Team (NTT).
Amanda, who was then shooting with USAMU, won the NRA Long Range National Championships in 2019. Amanda is now a top-ranked shooter in the United States, having won BOTH the Long Range and High Power National Championships.
