Use used media to tumble new pistol cartridge brass for 30 minutes prior to loading the first time. This will add enough carbon residue (graphite) to smooth the case entry into dies. Tip: When loading pistol cases with a progressive presses, the powder-through expander can be difficult to remove, particularly with short cases. You can fix this in two ways. First, you can try to deburr the inside of your case mouth. The radius of the powder-through expander plug can also be adjusted to improve entry and exit.
