Streamlight just released its TLR-8 Sub weapon lighting series. It features two compact weapon lights with integrated lasers. The TLR-8 Sub and TLR-8 G Sub are sub-compact weapon light series that feature integrated laser aiming modules. They are compatible with a variety of popular concealed carry pistol models that have limited space for accessories. The TLR-6 was the only Streamlight combo device that was compatible with short accessory rails. However, its small size meant it had a weak beam and a suboptimal battery life. The TLR-8 Sub/TLR-8 G Sub are now available to subcompact pistol owners. The only difference between the two new devices is the color of the laser and the price. The “G” model has a green laser instead. The first two are obvious. The Glock mount can fit Glock 43X and 48 pistols. (MOS or Rail). The 1913 mount is for handguns with a 1913 rail, such as the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0. A full handgun fit compatibility guide is available on Streamlight’s website.Other notable features of the new lights include their 5,000-candela/500-lumen output with a 141-meter beam distance. The single CR123A battery powers the devices. There are three settings available: light-only, laser only, or a combination. Both TLR-8 Sub models can run for 1.5 hours in combination or light-only modes. The red model can run for 60 hours, while the green model takes 11 hours. The Streamlight TLR-8 Sub is $389.55, while the TLR-8 G Sub is $477. Both are now available. Target grids and bullseye sizes can be downloaded in MOA. This is a great option for long-range shooting.
