There are two models: a Precision and a Hunter version. Both models feature an internal aluminum frame, adjustable trigger and integral Picatinny Rail on top. Users can adjust the foreends and rear section to suit their needs. Use the rifle to hunt the next weekend, then use it for a PRS match the following weekend. SAKO says: “The user can easily switch between the fore-ends and stocks, and change the rifle’s configuration from tactical to hunting in minutes without having to re-zero the optics.” Two screws located between the rear stock of the foreend and rear stock can be removed easily to remove the stocks. Both 20? barrel versions have been offered, with a wide variety of chamberings/calibers: .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag, .308 Win, .30-06 Springfield, .300 Win Mag.The SAKO S20’s stainless steel action features a 3-lug, push-feed bolt with plunger ejection. The Cerakoted S20 receiver features a Picatinny rail that is machined for easy scope mounting. The S20 trigger is adjustable in terms of pull weight and position within the trigger guard. The SAKO S20 Precision has a vertical grip, a wider fore-end with rail mount and a flat area in the buttstock to improve bag riding. This model can be used in tactical competitions, varminting, and hunting. GunsAmerica Digest published a very thorough field test and review of the SAKO S20. This article explains the swapping of stocks and foreends, as well as how to adjust trigger. Jeff Cramblit, the reviewer, praised the modular stock system and noted how smoothly the action worked. The SAKO S20’s takedown stock allows for great modularity. This means that S20 rifles are configured according to the owner’s preferences with different rear stocks, foreends and other parts.
