A family returned home to their home at 6800 Block of Feather creek Drive just after midnight on July 11, 2022. Two 16-year-old suspects tried to steal the vehicle and infants from the family’s car when they returned home. The Texas father shoots the would be thieves and stops the attempted robbery.

It is unclear if the suspects waited for the family or if it was simply bad timing. The suspect opened the rear door and the infants were found when the family pulled up to their house. The father opened fire on his legally-owned firearm, fearing for the safety of his family.
Fox News reports that “The adult male feared his safety and fired shots at both suspects.” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released a statement. “The wife was driving away and drove away after the shooting to escape the suspects,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated.
Wild surveillance video was first obtained by KHOU11 local news agency. It shows one of the suspects in the robbery running down the street. The second suspect, who was apparently in pain and writhing on ground, remained at the scene. The first teen returned shortly after and the injured suspects were taken to a Harris County, Texas hospital.
Investigators say the suspects are stable but they have not yet received word on any potential charges. The father is not currently facing any charges and the family is safe.
According to the New York Post, “No one in his family was hurt.” The sheriff’s office believes that the father was acting in self defense and is not bringing him to trial.
The importance of being armed
The father was legally armed and ready to protect his family. It is impossible to imagine what could have happened if the father hadn’t acted quickly and decisively. It is possible that this was a kidnapping attempt.
It is becoming more important than ever that you remain armed and continue practicing. It could save your family’s lives. Despite what the media may want you to believe, guns can save lives.
