McRee’s Precision Remington DIY Barrrel Kit includes a Criterion Pre-Fit stainless barrel, barrel nut, recoil lug, Thread Protector and a Barrel Nut Wrench. This is a great DIY option. The stainless steel Barrel Nut can be used for 1 1/16×16 barrel threads. The stainless steel recoil plug has a 1/8″ removable locator pin and can be used for 1.0625 dia barrel Threads. You can choose from three chamberings: Creedmoor, Win Mag, and.308 Win each priced at $499.47. These pre-fit barrel kits are ready-to-install. You will need to remove your existing barrel, place the recoil-lug, spin on the tube, and follow the instructions for setting the head-space using standard go/nogo gauges. Finally, torque the barrel nuts against the lug. NOTE: To remove the original barrel, you may need a barrel vise or an action wrench. You will need chambering-specific headspace gauges.
