RELATED STORY SAR9 – The Polymer 9mm Carry pistol We’ve All Been Using. The SAR9 Optic ready Pistol is built on a polymer frame and features a cerakote finish. For superior control and follow up shots, the grip has a 20-degree grip angle. The grip panels can be interchanged to provide a more comfortable hand-filling experience. The SAR9 also offers three sizes of backstraps. The forged steel slide is mounted atop the frame. It has forward and rear cocking serrations that allow for better manipulation. The updated slide also features optic mounting screws holes that allow for the attachment of your mini reflex sight. SAR will also release a version with an RMR cutout this year (2022). A 9mm forged steel barrel is housed within the slide. It locks tight when in battery. Rounds are sent downrange by a striker-fired mechanism, which is activated with a 6-pound trigger. The trigger pull is smooth and the reset length is minimal. It has a pleasant tactile feel. A three-slot Picatinny Rail with three slots is located just forward of the trigger guard. This rail can be used to add lights or other optics. The trigger safety is combined with the ambidextrous safety manual safety to prevent accidental discharge. The SAR9 comes with either two 17- or 10-round magazines depending on your state’s laws.
