Enter to Win a Free Gun Friday with IWI’s soon-to-be released Masada Slim Pistol and Caldwell Emax Shadows Pro Close Schrade Knives has been a quality manufacturer of cutlery for over 100 years. Schrade Knives is a favorite among knife enthusiasts for its iconic knives, Uncle Henry and Old Timer. Despite the fact that the company has been outsourcing its knives to China in recent years, it introduced the American-made Alpha series. The Schrade Truix Pivot lock, which is a perfect example of the high-quality series, is a part of this line. RELATED STORY: The Schrade Truix Pivot lock Folding Knife is an elegant EDC Folder with clean lines. The Truix, along with the entire Alpha line, are made in the U.S.A. This is a departure from the Chinese-made knives that the company has used in recent years. The 3.5-inch blade is made of CPM-S35VN stainless. This premium steel is considered to be the best. It is known for its great toughness, wear resistance and edge retention. The bead-blasted tanto blade is made of.125-inch thick stock and has a hollow grind. This allows for a very sharp edge. The handle is.50 inches thick and features black and gray G10, along with a stainless steel bolster. This gives it a stylish look. The Truix offers a solid grip in all conditions thanks to the texturing on the grip scales. The knife’s retention qualities are enhanced by the slightly rounded gripping and jiping at the butt. The pivot lock is located in the bolster. It is very similar to a crossbar lock like the Benchmade Axis lock. The Truix is held open by the lock at its full length of 7.5 inches. The lock and smooth pivot action allow the Truix to be opened with either the thumb stud, or the pivot lock. The Truix is designed for right-hand tip up carry and has a deep pocket clip. The pocket clip cannot be reversible so there is no left-hand option. Editor’s note: The Truix MSRP is $199.99, but the street price is around $167.95. Sites like KnifeCenter.com and Smoky Mountain Knife Works SMKW.com will offer better prices. These sites offer great prices, great customer support, and often have discounts on knives.
