The Speed Strip: Tactical Revolver Reloads

Speed strips are rubber strips that hold round by their rims. SpeedStrip, which is also known as “Kleenex,” has become a common name for any of these devices. It is a trademark registered by Bianchi International. These loaders are commonly referred to simply as speed strips. They hold the rounds in a single row and are easy to carry. Speed strips can only insert two rounds at once, so they are slower and more dependent upon fine motor skills than speedloaders. I have a method of configuring and using speed strips to compensate for their shortcomings. First, only carry four rounds in your strips. Start at the tab end, load two rounds, leaving one space blank, then load two more rounds from the other end. This setup has a handling tab at each of the ends and one in its middle. You’ll be able to grab the strip no matter how you hold it. This is a huge advantage when you are removing the cartridges from the chambers. Proprioception is your friend again. Hold the cylinder in your hand, and then move the rounds in by wriggling the bullet noses into the chambers. Next, remove the case heads and allow them to fall into the cylinder. If you have the time, repeat the process with the remaining rounds. I don’t move the strip in my hands; I use the heel of the palm to push them into their chambers. Then, I close the cylinder by removing the strip. Now you’re good to go. Target grids and bullseye sizes can be found in MOA. Get Free Targets
