Red dot optics are a great way to get a quick sight picture. Many firearms on the market today have red dot optics. Vortex Optics, for this reason, is keeping the red dots like the Defender-CCW coming. The firearm industry is fortunate to have so many options. Vortex Defender-CCW Red Dot sight The lightweight, single-piece 7075 aluminum Defender-CCW chassis features a rugged design. The shockproof design is able to withstand impact and recoil without any problems. The ShockShield polymer insert absorbs shock and protects the body from daily wear. The Defender-CCW also features a FastRack textured front plate, which adds grip to allow you to slide the Defender-CCW off any surface. The matte black anodized finish is low-glare and provides wear resistance and corrosion resistance for a long lifetime. The slim profile allows for easy draw from underwear and lower printing risk. The large aspherical lens provides a clearer sight picture and truer color. The optic also provides unlimited eye relief and is industry-defined as “parallax-free”. The Defender-CCW can operate on one CR1632 battery and provides 9,500 hours on brightness setting 6. Battery life is protected by an automatic 14-hour auto shutoff. Motion-activated operation also wakes up the optic at the last brightness setting. You can disable both the auto-shutoff or motion activation. The top-mount battery compartment allows you to replace the battery without affecting zero. The 3 MOA dot has 8 settings for daylight brightness and 2 night-vision compatible settings. The maximum windage adjustment is 105MOA and the max elevation adjustment 110MOA. The fog-proof design can withstand extreme temperatures and an O-ring seal prevents moisture, dust, and other debris. The Shield RMS footprint is used in the Defender-CCW. Availability The Vortex Defender CCW red dot sight has a MSRP of $349.99. VortexOptics.com has more information. (Photo by Vortex Optics.
