Photo of Aussie Wind Flags by BRT Shooters Supply. Stuart Elliot, an Australian friend of BRT Shooters Supply, recently filmed a few interesting videos on the QTS range at Brisbane in Australia. Stuart Elliot told us, “I was participating in an Air Gun Benchrest Match here in Brisbane Australia. I had already finished my target and was waiting for the cease-fire. I took a slow-motion video to show the behavior of windflags. You might be surprised at the changes in velocity and angle that occur over a relatively small distance (just 25 meters between bench and target). Here are windflags viewed in slow motion.
The flags shown in the videos were developed by Stuart Elliot and are Aussie Wind Flags. These flags are available through the Bench Rest Tactical Precision Shooting Products (BRT) website, along many other fine products. Here is a real-time video:
Stuart says that this video might surprise some shooters, who do not use windflags. “Many people think the wind does not matter.” It does matter, whether you’re shooting an airgun from 25 meters away or a centerfire rifle at 1,000 meters.
