Tomorrow, May 22-24, Shooting USA TV is going to broadcast a great program. The Wednesday Night episode of Shooting USA features the NRA World Shooting Championship, which was held at Camp Atterbury last month. This unique competition includes multiple disciplines shot using firearms provided by sponsors. Once the match is finished, the stage guns become prizes. The NRA World Shooting Championship took place April 3-6, 2020 at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana. This challenging event, presented by Walther, involved rifle, shotgun, and pistol shooting with a dozen different disciplines – from short-range action rifle to long-range rifle. Lanny Barnes, who is a three-time Olympic biathlete as well as a professional 3-Gun competitor, was the top lady shooter. We congratulate Lanny on her outstanding performance in 2024 at the NRA Championship which earned Lanny’s title of NRA Women’s World Shooting Champion! The NRA World Shooting Championship This championship is designed for individuals to be tested through multiple disciplines over three days of shooting. The competition is divided into two categories: Professional and Amateur. Cash and prizes totaling more than $250,000 are awarded to the winners of each category. Walther and sponsors provided ALL firearms and ammunition for the 12 stages. To be successful, competitors need to be proficient in all types of shooting — pistol, rifle, shotgun and both rapid fire, and precision. The stages were Sporting Clays (Cowboy Action), Precision Standing Air Gun (PRS), NRA Americas Rifle Challenge (NRA Precision Pistol), 3-Gun, Mid-Range AR-Tactical (FITASC), Biathlon, SASS(Cowboy Action), PRS and USPSA.
