Updated 11/07/2022A simple accessory, a suppressor covers can help you shoot more accurately with a can while protecting your muzzle device. You can find the best suppressor covers. Alleluia, get the ammo! Now you can shoot in quieter, more accurate bliss. It’s almost true. As long as your rifle is threaded properly to accept a suppressor, you can shoot with reduced decibel marksmanship. If you are serious about the popular muzzle device, you will most likely discover that you need another piece of gear–a suppressor covers. Why? You’ll regret not buying one sooner. You don’t need a suppressor cover to understand why you need one. Let me illustrate by asking you a simple question: What happens after a few shots to your barrel? If you rub your hand against the barrel after a string, you will notice that it gets hot. This depends on its profile and caliber. Even with a sporter profile, it is a thick tube of metal. It can even be measured against a suppressor tube (or baffles if it is tubeless). Hot suppressors, whether they are made of aluminum, stainless steel, or titanium, can heat up quickly and pose a serious threat to your safety. If you are a shooter who doesn’t take your rifle off the bench, this is not an issue. If you are more active behind the trigger, you and others around you have a better chance of getting a blistering kiss. Like motorcycle and dirt bike enthusiasts, legs are particularly susceptible to getting burned.Uncomfortable as singed flesh might sound, there’s a more undesirable outcome to a suppressor hovering around blow-touch temperatures–accuracy deterioration. It has nothing to do barrel harmonics, or any finite problem you normally deal with when a gun is hot. It’s heat mirage and there is plenty of it. The thermal phenomenon can be used to determine wind direction and magnitude from far away. However, it is very useful downrange. Heat mirage is a thermal phenomenon that can be used to cook a can. If you shoot too many rounds in a short time, you could damage your device. Although rare, it is not uncommon and highly desirable. These covers are not cheap, and they can be difficult to replace. You need to be able to identify what you are looking for in a suppressor cover. They are the opposite of the device they enhance. Although they are simple, there is still a lot to consider so you can get the best jacket for you. Each part is crucial. Each is important. The jacket is usually a synthetic fabric that secures and protects the suppressor’s core. In some cases, it can also camouflage the device and provide additional heat protection. There are new twists to this formula, such as MagPul’s coreless covers and the silicon grippable covers. But for the most part the market consists mainly of the aforementioned design. The heat rating and fit are the most important factors to consider when purchasing a suppressor cover. This is the most important. Because suppressors come in many sizes and shapes, there is no one-size-fits all cover. To get the correct system, you will need to know the can’s length and diameter. You also need to understand how manufacturers measure suppressor covers. This is not a uniform system so it is worth taking the time to learn what dimensions are important. Some extreme covers have a rating of 3000-degrees Fahrenheit. This covers extreme use. But, before you go, This is the one for me! You need to understand what such a model is. Material, lots of it. This is how suppressor covers work. They rely on core bulk to resist heat. The higher the rating, the heavier the cover, and the more weight you attach to your rifle or pistol, the less of a problem it might be. Longer strings can be achieved with insulation. A thinner, lighter option may be more appropriate if your firearm’s fire volume is low and you need to keep it balanced. There are three options available: Heavy for rifles, Medium to pistols and rifles, and Custom for any items not covered by the other two. The base units, made of Nomex or Kevlar, can handle heat up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that they can produce a lot of heat in a short time. An optional fiberglass insert can be added to any of the units to increase their rating to 2000 degrees. Magpul’s cover is unique in this market, with five color options. The unit is made up of a heat-resistant sleeve with a raised stainless-steel heat shield. It keeps outside temperatures up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit lower than the suppressor’s surface. It clamps directly onto a can to allow for ample airflow to cool down the muzzle device. Although it is heavy at 9.6 ounces the suppressor cover makes a great addition to any AR. The suppressor cover is made up of three layers. The inner tube is rated for 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, the middle layer 1,800 degrees, and Denier Cordura nylon 600-degrees. Cole-Tac even uses Kevlar thread to stitch. This system is extremely durable and will keep your rifle’s accuracy intact no matter how many rounds are fired. Its highly intuitive Velcro locking mechanism makes it easy to use the suppressor cover. These covers can vary in length and weight due to the fact that they are custom-made. They offer a lot of protection without causing any damage to your rifle or silencer, regardless of which model you have. The cover can be purchased in 12 colors, 9 strap colors, and 3 buckle colors. Users can also input the exact dimensions of their suppressor to ensure a perfect fit. The difference is a heat-abatement outer jacket which increases the overall performance of the suppressor covers system. The shell 2,500 and the inner core are rated for 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. This provides a lot protection and virtually eliminates mirages. Rifles Only offers a wide range of suppressor covers, so you can match your operational environment. Its traditional lace-up system is not the fastest way to switch, which is a drawback. MSRP: $95Armageddon gear mirage coverThis system has been around for some time and remains one of the best choices for mirage mitigation. Armageddon Gear covers more cans than any other company, which is one of the best features. If you don’t see your model in the list, they will make it if you send them your specs. This is not the best choice for running your pistol or rifle suppressor hot. Armageddon Gear was designed for precision shooters, so its rating is slightly lower than those of more extreme models. It can reach 800-degrees Fahrenheit with its hi-temp model. MSRP: $87Manta Defense Supressor CoverThere are many silicon options, but Manta Defense has a great option that offers some of the best features. Manta’s suppressor covers are ribbed. This allows for more heat to be dispersed and is easy to grab. It can only be used with 1.5-inch cans, depending on the type of suppressor. The suppressor cover is 7 inches long and can be cut to your desired length. It’s great if you have a can that is 7 inches in diameter, but it doesn’t work for everyone else.
