Triangle Patches — Patented Design to Make Cleaning Efficient

December 21, 2021 Product innovation is all about “building better mousetraps” or, in this case, creating better bore-cleaning patches. Shane Smith, a smart man, invented a triangular patch which earned him a patent. BoreSmith’s Triangle PatchTM has been granted a utility patent by the U.S. Patent Office. This unique cleaning patch was designed by Shane Smith, a mathematician/physicist who employed his scientific and firearms knowledge to create innovative bore-cleaning products. BoreSmith’s Triangle PatchTM (aka Pyramid Patch), provides more cleaning surface to the bore wall than a traditional square or round patch (of equal size). Triangle Patches are also less likely to get stuck in the barrel because of their unique geometry. Because the triangle has notches on its sides, the patch can sit more evenly on the jag without bunching up. The Pyramid patch is less likely to jam because of pleating. Unwanted 5-layer pleating is one reason why conventional patches can get stuck. The special notches on the Pyramid patch eliminate all or most 5-layer pleating. This prevents the patch from bunching up, which reduces rod bowing. Triangle patches available HERE. The Triangle patch can be used with any standard jag, but it is best when paired up with BoreSmith’s dual-diameter JagBrush. There are four sizes available: 17-20 Caliber to suit your needs, 22-27 Caliber to suit your needs, 27-35 Caliber to suit your needs, and 35-58 Caliber. You should insert brushes and patches first from the chamber end, despite what you might see in this video. Bolt-action rifles require that you never insert a cleaning rod with a brush or jag through the muzzle. The delicate crown of your barrel may be damaged by this.
