Weatherby introduces Backcountry 2.0 Ultralight Hunting Rifles

Weatherby’s Backcountry 2.0 rifles are light — they weigh only 4.7 pounds (before optics). This is good news for backcountry hunter. Weatherby’s Backcountry 2.0 carbon-stocked hunting rifles are well below 6 pounds before optics. One series of titanium action models weighs in at 4.7 pounds. The 2.0 series now has standard steel receivers and lighter titanium receivers. Backcountry 2.0 Carbon models come with a carbon fiber stock that is lightest in the business — only 20 ounces for standard actions. Some models come with a tensioned carbon-fiber-wrapped barrel to further reduce weight. The MSRP for the titanium-action carbon barrel model is $3749.00. Ultralight Carbon Stock — Weatherby’s new Blacktooth stock has a Carbon Link(TM), bedding system that engages the recoil lug to distribute recoil throughout the stock.
