Our Constitution is being threatened by the anti-Second Amendment push from DC. Wyoming passed the Second Amendment Protection Act in order to protect its citizens against unconstitutional federal anti gun legislation. RELATED STORY A Rasmussen Poll shows that Americans reject more gun control. Wyoming enacts the Second Amendment Protection Act. Although it is the federal government’s job to protect and defend the Constitution, it is actually trying to undermine it. We reported recently that even part of President Biden’s State of the Union Address referred to the Second Amendment. It is frightening when a country’s government targets its citizens’ rights. We are seeing states taking steps to protect their citizens against a federal government that is not interested in their best interests. Wyoming’s signing of the Second Amendment Protection Act is yet another sign that states reject federal anti gun legislation. According to the Laramie boomerang, the bill was passed during the Wyoming Legislature’s 2022 budget session. It was created to protect Second Amendment rights and prevent federal regulation of ammunition, firearms, accessories, and magazines. Officers, gun rights advocates, lawmakers, and sheriffs all said that the legislation was necessary because President Joe Biden’s administration pushes to such control.” This bill replaces the Second Amendment Preservation Act, which was first proposed. Some claimed that the original bill would expose law enforcement officers to civil lawsuits from citizens. Others argue that the final bill will be enforced in court by local prosecuting lawyers. According to KGAB AM, the “Supporters for the Second Amendment Preservation Act -Senate File 87″ wanted private citizens to have the right to bring legal action against state or local agencies that violate the Second Amendment. They said they were unsure of one governmental office ruling in another local or state agency, especially at a local level where the two agencies may have a working relationship.” The Second Amendment Protection Act. In short, the bill prohibits public officials from enforcing or administering any unconstitutional act. It also imposes one of the most severe penalties for violations in the country. Anyone who violates this act is guilty of a misdemeanor. It can result in a one-year imprisonment, a $2,000 fine, or both. The act states that “(a) This act prohibits this state and all its political subdivisions from using any funds or personnel appropriated by the legislature in Wyoming or any other source of funds originating in Wyoming to enforce, administrate or cooperate with any unconstitutional act or law, treaty or executive order, rule, regulation or rule of the United States government that infringes or impedes individual rights guaranteed under Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States.” It does not restrict or limit an officer’s ability to provide assistance to federal authorities. It also does not prohibit them from accepting federal money for law enforcement purposes. The result is the culmination many efforts by law enforcement, gun owners and Second Amendment supporters. Dwane Pacheco, President of Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police, told the Laramie Boomerang that he and his officers stand united to ensure they do not enforce, administer, or cooperate with unconstitutional acts. This is one the most important legislative actions that I have ever seen on a personal as well as professional level.” The federal government is trying to eliminate our constitutional rights. States must resist. It is the only way that a constitutional republic can survive. Sign up for the Personal Defense World newsletter today to stay in the loop!
